Using the zapMYstock Go program
The following section explains how to use the zapMYstock Go program.
Main Menu
This menu is displayed every time you turn on the CipherLab 8200. This menu provides access to the main functions of the zapMYstock Go program, and allows you to configure the device and program.

To select a function from a menu, you can type the number to the left of any item in the menu, or you can use the up and down arrows on the 4-way navigation pad around the SCAN key to move the highlighted bar, then press ENTER to select that function.
Hint
To return to the Main Menu from any other menu, just press the ESC key.
Collect Data
This function allows you to collect data. The zapMYstock Go program first prompts you to scan (or enter) a barcode.

Just press the yellow scan button at the top of the keypad, then point the scan beam at the barcode. The scanner will beep to signal that the barcode has been read.
If you are unable to scan a barcode on an item (perhaps the barcode label is damaged or missing), you can type in the barcode number at this prompt, then press the ENTER key.
Note
There are two ENTER keys on the keypad - they are in the top left and top right of the keypad, and are labelled with a blue horizontal line. See here for full information on the keypad.
The zapMYstock Go program will then prompt you to enter a quantity for the barcode.

Type in the quantity using the keypad, then press the ENTER key. The zapMYstock Go program will then return to the "Scan/enter barcode" prompt so that you can continue collecting data.
Pressing the ESC key at the "Enter quantity" prompt will cancel the scan and return you to the "Scan/enter barcode" prompt.
To exit from this function back to the Main Menu, press the ESC key at the "Scan/enter barcode" prompt.
Hint
As of zapMYstock Go V1.5, you can scan another barcode at the quantity prompt. The previous barcode will be automatically stored with a quantity of 1, then the quantity prompt will be displayed again for the new barcode. This allows you to scan multiple items continuously, and you only need to enter a quantity for the last barcode scanned.
Data Transfer
This function allows you to send the collected data to a PC.

Warning
When HID data transfer is selected, make certain that your computer is in the right place to accept the data! If you have another program open and active, the data will go into that program instead, and that might cause data loss in that program.
Status
This function displays the memory status, showing the size of the memory fitted to the CipherLab 8200, the amount of free memory available to store data, and the approximate number of scans that can be stored in the device.

Configuration Menu
This menu allows you to configure the CipherLab 8200 and the zapMYstock Go program.

To return to the Main Menu, just press the ESC key.

| usbser | This option outputs the data as if it was coming from an RS-232 port. Note that this option requires that a USB to Serial Port driver is installed on the computer. |
| xmodem | This option outputs the data as if it was coming from an RS-232 port, using the XMODEM protocol. Note that this option requires that a USB to Serial Port driver is installed on the computer, and that a program capable of receiving XMODEM protocol is running on the computer. |
When you enter this function, the current setting is displayed near the top of the screen, as shown above. Press any key (except ENTER) to cycle through the available options, which are shown near the bottom of the screen. When the option that you want is displayed, press ENTER to select it. Note
If you're downloading data from the CipherLab 8200 to your Windows PC or laptop via hid (ie keyboard emulation), you do not need to install any drivers. If you're downloading via usbser or xmodem (ie USB Serial Port), you will need to install the CipherLab USB Serial Port drivers. Click here for the download links.
Field Separator
This option controls which character is used between fields in the collected data. The available options are comma or tab, with tab being the default.

| comma | This option puts a comma between fields in the collected data. For example, 9312015870525,27 where 9312015870525 is the barcode and 27 is the quantity. |
| tab | This option puts a tab character between fields in the collected data. |
When you enter this function, the current setting is displayed near the top of the screen, as shown above. Press any key (except ENTER) to cycle through the available options, which are shown near the bottom of the screen. When the option that you want is displayed, press ENTER to select it. | yes | This option adds the string "EOF" (without the quotes, but with a CR/LF after it) after the collected data is downloaded. |
| no | This option does not add anything extra after the collected data. |
When you enter this function, the current setting is displayed near the top of the screen, as shown above. Press any key (except ENTER) to cycle through the available options, which are shown near the bottom of the screen. When the option that you want is displayed, press ENTER to select it. Just type in the new date and time, then press ENTER. Or, if you decide not to change the time, press the ESC key to cancel.
Clear Memory
This function allows you to delete all of the collected data from the scanner's memory. Note that confirmation is required before the data is deleted.

Press the 5 key if you want to delete the data. A second confirmation screen will then be displayed (we don't want you to accidentally delete your data!), just follow the on-screen instructions.
